What Christmas is all about?

Many people say many different things about Christmas and what it is all about.  Some say it is about family, well that is how we act for sure.  I know some churches cancel worship services on Christmas so they can devote themselves to their family.  Some say Christmas is about giving gifts and I think our checkbooks would verify that too.  To others Christmas is about decoration, look around that may be true for some.  Still more say it’s about a Holiday, who doesn’t like a day off with pay?  Yet others say it’s a ‘feeling of peace and love,’ or it’s about the children or it all about commerce.

Is there any one reading this who does NOT know better?  Christmas is about Jesus!  Simply put, it’s a spiritual day.  It’s the day God put on flesh.  It’s day one or step one to the cross, where He will take the sin of the world upon Himself.  More importantly, my sin… every horrible thought, every senseless lie and every unkind act I have unleashed on my friends.  Yes, Jesus took them all.  He took them upon Himself.

Jesus began His journey to pave the way for me to go to heaven!  No wonder the enemy of God tries to make us think it’s about our families, our gifts, or our whatever!  If we took the time to invest in the real meaning of Christmas, we’d have spiritual renewal like no other.
