The Blame Game

I saw a sign in a church once the said “after the age of 30 it O.K. to quit blaming your mother.”  I laughed and said “Amen.”  However, the reality is we are products of our up-bring.  Our fathers and mothers did more than they probably realized.  We can’t help it, we weren’t in a position to do much about it.  But we are now.  Especially if you are over 30.  With God’s help, not only can you quit blaming your parents you can give God the glory for heritage you have in heaven and earth.  You can enjoy your sonship as a Christian.

We can learn to enjoy the best of our upbringing and cast aside the worst.  We can ‘make the most of the best and the least of the worst.’  That is just a good way to approach life.

Did you hear about the man who got an outrageous bill from his doctor?  The statement had an explanation that the aches and pains the man was experiencing was hereditary and nothing the doctor could do to help him.  So the man simply wrote a note to the doctor.  It said “since my problems are hereditary. Please send the bill to my father!  Well maybe there is some advantage to blaming our parents after all.
