Spiritual Freedom, is it possible?

The real truth on this freedom business begins by understanding a big lie.  The lie is that true freedom is just a prayer away.  Actually to experience this freedom we are talking about, there are five things you and I must do to get to this freedom.  I know we’d like to think it is unscriptural to have to do anything to obtain anything from God and our faith.  But that is the big lie that has swept the spiritual landscape of America.

The first thing to do…

1.  We must seek salvation with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:13)

2.  We must commit ourselves to truth (John 8:36)

3.  We must play our position (I Thessalonians 4:3-8)

4.  We must engage in the spiritual war that is going on in our mind (Romans 12:1-2)

5. We must press on in our walk with Him (Philippians 3:12)

In other words, if you are saved ‘act’ like it. If you are committed to the truth ‘act’ like it.  If you are a Christian ‘act’ like it.  If you are at war ‘act’ like it.  If you are growing in your faith, ‘act’ like it.  Let it show, wear it on your sleeve, show some pride in your belief system and wear proudly the name of Christian.  Freedom is right around the corner, if you do some basic things.

The day of living like the devils’ 3rd cousin is over.  How can you stay chained to His evil ways and be free at the same time.  It doesn’t work that way!  Some readers of this will call me a heretic, claiming that I want you to work for salvation and heaven.  Call me what you may, but doing what He wants is no sin.  However living in sin, bondage and slavery to the evil one is sin, it’s wrong.

I close with the words of Jesus, please note the words “do” in this section… Matthew 7:   21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evil doers!’
