Experiencing Him

     God has a dream for every life.  I am convinced of this.  He did not send His one and only Son to die a horrible death on the cross for people like you and I to waste away our lives on frivolous pettiness.  I am certain that God wants His kindness directed toward us to affect our lives in the most powerful way possible.  God wants us to experience Him!

     When we understand God’s experience for us: it becomes like glue that holds our lives together with determined purpose.  It is like a magnet that attracts many to its higher calling.  It is like a yardstick that allows us to measure our progress in our discipleship.  It is like a laser that continually points us in the direction we what go.

      When folks like us lack his experience, we usually settle for pettiness.  I’m done with petty things.  I know I have lived many years more than I have left.  I want only that which really counts to arrest my attention. 

     I am also convinced that this experience is our most potent weapon against our adversary.  This experience is a picture of a preferred future.  My future is heaven, I want to hear the words from Him “Well done good and faithful servant!”  I also know that experiencing Him without passion is ‘just another boring idea.’  T.E. Lawrence, in the Seven Pillars of wisdom wrote “All men dream: but not equally.  Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds awake to find that it was vanity:  But the dreamers of day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.”

     I’m dreaming of experiencing Him, in the way He desires, and He prescribes and He makes possible!
