Are you a believer or not?

Believer original

Most of us say were are believers.  But most of us have to admit, our actions don’t always verify our belief.  If we truly believe the resurrection message, we will be affected in many positive ways.  In fact we will be changed in all the important ways we need for life satisfaction.  The resurrection message is simple: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures (I Corinthians 15:3-4).  Understanding and applying this message to our lives is the game changer.  May I give you a comparison of what an unbeliever says to what a believer says?

Unbelievers say “I can’t go on.”  Believers say “His grace is sufficient for me.”

Unbelievers say “I can’t figure it out.”  Believers say “He will direct my steps.”

Unbelievers say “I can’t do it.”  Believers say “I can do all things through Him.”

Unbelievers say “I’m not able.”  Believers say “I am able.”

Unbelievers say “I can’t forgive myself.”  Believers say “I’m forgiven.”

Unbelievers say “I can’t manage.”  Believers say “God will supply my need.”

Unbelievers say “I’m afraid.”  Believers says “I do not have a spirit of fear.”

Unbelievers say “I’m always worried and frustrated.”  Believers say “I cast my care on Him.”

Unbelievers say “I’m not smart enough.”  Believers say “When I lack wisdom I ask God.”

Unbelievers say “I feel all alone.”  Believers say “Jesus is always with me.”

Now I ask you again, based on the previous ten sayings, Are you a believer or not?  Here’s my answer, “I want to be but I don’t always act like it.”  My prayer is “Oh God, help my unbelief.”
