A New Song (Actually Old)

A new song title 2 still 16x9 original

Sometimes we resist new songs, so that may be the case with this song.  If you are a resister to new songs maybe this will help.  The song I have in mind is actually an old song.  It is so old, “how old is it?” It is so old that I learned it as a kid in Sunday School.  We’re talking 60 years ago.  This is one of the first songs I ever heard, sang and remember.  It goes like this.  Words only, if you want the tune google it, or if you’re as old as me, google your memory, you may find it there…

Whisper a prayer in the morning…

Whisper a prayer at noon...

Whisper a prayer in the evening… to keep your heart in tune

God answers prayer in the morning…

God answers prayer at noon…

God answers prayer in the evening… so keep your heart in tune

Jesus may come in the morning…

Jesus may come at noon…

Jesus may come in the evening… so keep your heart in tune

I’m reminding you of this song because sometimes simple children’s songs have a deep and true theology to them.  This song stuck with me for all these years.  The fact that Jesus is returning to this earth someday is a Biblical fact.  He can return anytime the Father tells Him.  I say this because there are many theories (by various people) that say Jesus can’t return to earth until certain things take place…  Well I’m sorry if the song tromps on those ideas, but it carries the truth, like many of the simple songs for kids.

I may be too old for this song, but I’m not too old for the truth.  Lord Jesus, please come quickly!
